The goal of this once per year tournaments is to provide exceptional education in the areas of competitive sportsmanship, manners, endurance, self-protection and personal achievement. We also feel it is necessary for each student to know what actual contact feels like to better prepare him/her if they should be confronted and must defend themselves. All students will be supplied with sanctioned protective gear. If students choose to purchase their own gear, sanctioned gear is also for sale at our school.

All students from White belt to Black belt are encouraged to attend this competition; And continue to do so every year. Lessons taught through this program can only be realized by attending this event. NOTE: even if you or your child has just started training, it will be an advantage to enter the competition. Our special training classes will ensure all students get quality training to feel comfortable with the competition. Through a meticulous process we will match up students according to their weight, height, belt, age, and experience.

We will not be selling admission tickets to the event his year instead we will sell raffle tickets and hold a silent auction to raise money for our cause. all profits from will go towards our scholarship program. We also have support from many business sponsors who have helped with financial contributions and merchandise for door prizes which will help benefit our scholarship. The more tickets you purchase, the more families we can accept into our scholarship program and the better chance for you to win.  (If you or your business would like to donate a door prize or make a financial donation, please let us know).

FAQ:

?Do I need to buy sparring equipment?

✅ No you do not have to buy sparring equipment. it is completely your preference. We will supply all needed gear.  All students Yellow belt and up, should already have a helmet

? I am a white belt, should I enter the tournament?

✅You will be in a category with similar rank and skill, remember it is about the challenge. All students should compete once a year.

? I heard this is a charity event please tell me more about the charity?

✅That is correct, it is a charity event. Which means all profits made will go right to our Yoon's Scholarship Fund, which in turn will help students of lower income, to pay for martial arts training year-round.

in 2019-2022 we were happy to say that we used up our whole scholarship fund and continued to donate from our school. Yoon's Martial Arts School donated over $10,000 of lessons.

?Do I have to compete?

✅ Competing, especially for children, is highly recommended. I like to use the following analogy: Participants of a sport, will not be able to fully understand the game, without playing a game. Competing once a year will give students numerous virtues that they cannot realize during regular class. They will also feel similar adrenalin responses as they would in a real fight. It will better prepare them should they have to defend themselves. Furthermore, it will build a lifetime of memories, camaraderie, and skill.

Tournament points and facts:

✅ Our tournament is a challenge event, as well as an annual charity event for our Yoon's Scholarship Fund. All profits will be donated back to the Yoon's Scholarship Fund.

✅ We will be doing our tournament at the Genesis Center in Northeast Falcon Ridge, in the feature Gym. This is a very exciting time of year in which we get all the children pumped up and ready to compete.

✅Each student will have their names engraved on their trophy.

✅ There will be trophies for first, second, and third place. We will also have trophies for sportsmanship, endurance, and manners. We believe that each child should get a trophy not for participation, but for actual virtues they display during the tournament.

✅ Referees and judges of the tournament will be well trained. Judges must first referee for at least four years before they become a judge.
